More US online ad spending will be going towards social networks in the years to come.

According to eMarketers report “Worldwide Social Network Ad Spending: 2011 Outlook”, 10.8% of US online ad spending will be used on social networks.

This prediction is up from 7.7% in 2010. By 2012, the spending is expected to rise to 12.1%.

The additional spending is likely due to the increase in ad revenues the social networks have experienced over the past couple of years.
